30th December 2017 - Gala Wilton win game of two halves at Henbury

The wet weather conditions caused four of the eight fixtures scheduled for today to be postponed.

Henbury v Gala Wilton certainly lived up to the old cliché a game of two halves. Trailing 3-0 at the break Gala hit back in the second half to win 4-3 with all four goals coming from Ryan Dobbins.

Henbury had taken the lead on 16 minutes when Ross Johnson headed home Luke Cox’s corner and on 22 minutes a great diagonal ball from Adam Rosser found Andy Dickinson out wide on the right and his pinpoint cross found George Loud to side foot home. It was 3-0 on 40 minutes after a Jack Mills shot struck the crossbar flew out wide to Andy Dickinson and he crossed in to Kieran Cooper to score from inside the area. Gala had created several good scoring opportunities in the first half but had failed to take them.

Henbury could have put the game out of Gala reach 3 minutes into the second half but Ross Johnson missed a great chance. Gala started their recovery on 50 minutes from a long ball into the Henbury box which the home defence failed to clear and Ryan Dobbins scrambled the ball in. On 70 minutes a misjudged pass by Jack Mills was intercepted by the Gala midfield fed through to Ryan Dobbins to fire past O’Brien from the edge of the box. The unthinkable happened in the 92nd and 94th minute when Henbury gave away a penalty that Dobbins converted and then just two minutes later another scramble in the Henbury box allowed Dobbins to grab the winner and his fourth of the afternoon.

Ruardean Hill Rangers showed no mercy as they hammered six into the Southmead CS Athletic goal with just one conceded. Right from the off there were several good chances created by the home side when they hit the bar and then the upright before taking the lead on 21 minutes from a corner sent over by James for Shaun Tingle to tap home for the start of his hattrick. Within a minute it was 2-0 when Cornwall-Boote sent Shaun Tingle clear to net his second. Ricky Tingle should have made it three but headed wide from 3 yards. Then on 35 minutes Southmead pulled a goal back after Ben Fry’s initial shot was saved by Underwood he followed up to tap the ball home. Dan Mason went close with a shot on 55 minutes then on 60 minutes Charlie Mason went on a mazy run before being upended on the edge of the box and from the free kick Luke Johnson made it 3-1. The home side scored again on 66 minutes when a cross-come shot from Kane Fellows was misjudged by the visitors keeper and it dropped into the net. Shaun Tingle completed his hattrick on 74 minutes when he headed home at the far post. Scott Edwards netted his first goal for the club on 84 minutes to complete the scoring.

Stonehouse Town continue in good form with a 4-0 victory over Wick. The home side broke away down the right on 8 minutes with Andy Maryon sending in a superb cross for Luke Soule to open the scoring. Liam Gale then missed two really good chances before making it 2-0 on 21 minutes when he cut in from the flank and unleashed a great shot from the edge of the box that finished up in the bottom corner. Wicks first real chance fell to Jake Robertson on 29 minutes but it was opportunity missed. A great corner from Liam Gale on 30 minutes was headed home by Lee Keveren to give the home side a 3-0 lead at the break. Wick almost got a goal back on 36 minutes but James Pocock’s shot hit the bar. Early in the second half the visitors missed a glorious chance when Luke Robertson sent in superb ball across the box but Allen Williams missed a sitter. With little action near the goals throughout the second half Stonehouse scored the fourth and final goal right on time when Wick lost possession on the halfway line and Liam Gale ran clear to round the keeper to score.

Frampton United had to come back from a two goal deficit to take the three points at home to Little Stoke. Little Stoke went ahead on 9 minutes with a great finish from Kieran Williams. Frampton’s first real chance came on 18 minutes from a Manolo Espada cross that was met by Jake Low but Amin Jones in the visitor’s goal saved well. Stoke went two up in the 22nd minute when Williams shot rebounded off the Frampton bar and Nick Rugman finished it off. The home side woke up in the second half and pulled a goal back on 50 minutes Cox sent Ryan Vincent clear to score. It was 2-2 on 73 minutes when Lewis Wilton guided home a Manolo Espada free kick. The home side grabbed the winner on 82 minutes from a Kris Bulley cross that was turned in by Ryan Vincent.

23rd December 2017 - Wick score five in first half to beat Kingswood

Thornbury Town increase their lead at the top to nine points with a win over Frampton United. Second place Lebeq United were not in action today.

Wick fixture at home to Kingswood today was a rather one sided affair for the first 45 minutes. Although Kingswood forced a corner in the 1st minute the home side took over and scored five times in the first half without reply. It all started after 9 minutes when the home side had a header cleared off the line and then 2 minutes later they went ahead with a sweeping break down the right and low across into the box from Danny Sheldon swept into the net but Shaun Morris. A minute later Fox dived across goal to push a Danny Sheldon 25 yard free kick away for a corner. On 16 minutes the home side went 2-0 up when Jake Robertson drove the ball past Fox from the edge of the box. Kingswood’s only real chance to score came in the 17th minute from a Adam Eldridge 30 yard free kick that home keeper Tyler Edmunds managed to push up into the air and then collect just before it went over the line. The home side made it 3-0 on 26 minutes with some really good interchanging of passes and Jake Robertson finished it off for his second. Just 2 minutes later another great move gave Allen Williams the chance to make it 4-0. The fifth on 32 minutes was a really good shot from Joe Thomas curling his right foot shot past Fox as he cut in from the left.

The second half was a little more balanced but still the home side had chances to increase their tally but Kingswood’s effort in the second half was vastly improved and they defended well. The home side could well have made it six on 50 minutes as Nathan Croot was dispossessed by Allen Williams on the edge of the Kingswood box but the striker’s finish with a one on one with Fox was poor the ball going well wide of the goal. Adam Eldridge pulled off a great tackle to deny Jake Robertson a clear run on goal on 61 minutes. Then on 68 minutes Allen Williams had another good chance but somehow the Kingswood defence got the ball clear. A cross from Mike Hardiman found Joe Thomas on the far post and his header was heading into the goal until Lewis Toop intervened and headed off the line. Kingswood’s only effort on goal in the second half fell to Lewis Toop but his shot did not trouble Tyler Edmunds.

Thornbury Town have opened up a 9 point lead with a convincing 4-1 win over Frampton United. It was the visitors who started the strongest and took the lead on 13 minutes when Ryan Vincent took full advantage of a defensive mistake by the home side and ran clear to the edge of the box before firing into the Thornbury net. 35 minutes had passed when the home side struck an equalising goal a great run by full- back Joe Guest down the right played a one two and then fired the ball into the far corner. Against the run of play the home side grabbed the lead right on 45 minute s as the ball was flicked into the box and Mark Viner stabbed the ball home. Thornbury went further ahead on 50 minutes from a break down the right by Toby Bennett to the bye-line he then fired a low cross into the Frampton goal area where the unfortunate Jack Bartman turned the ball into his own net. Frampton almost got a second when Lewis Wilton turned and shot in the box only to see his shot cannon back off the crossbar. Town netted a forth on 56 minutes when the ball was worked down the right by Scott McLeod crossed into Craig Lancastle who had time and space to fire the ball home.

Rockleaze Rangers will be relieved after coming away from Hanham Athletic with an emphatic 5-1 win. Three goals in the first 18 minutes stunned the home side with Dan Webb heading the first on 3 minutes the start of his hattrick. A mistake in the home defence on 10 minutes gave Webb the opportunity to make it 2-0 and then on 18 minutes Dan Bendall made it three. Home keeper Max Heaven then saved well from Malique Christian or it may well have been four before the break. The home side pulled a goal back on 68 minutes through Adam Grinter but then Dan Webb completed his hattrick from the penalty spot on 82 minutes. Then just before the end Heaven saved well from a Webb shot but Rory Langdon following up made it five.

Henbury jumped up the table with two second half goals at Little Stoke. The home side had a good chance to take the lead on 5 minutes but Sam Thomas fired over the bar. Henbury had their first effort on goal a shot from George Loud following an Adam Rosser free kick was well saved by home keeper Amin Jones. Then John Rugman set up Keiron Williams but he shot over. Ross Johnson should have done better from an Adam Rosser free kick that could have given the visitors the lead. Just before the break Henbury keeper Ryan Fogerty brought off a great save to deny Rugman. The visitors took the lead on 55 minutes from a cross into the box from Adam Rosser and Ed Wright was there to bundle the ball in. The visitor’s got their second on 75 minutes direct from an Adam Rosser corner that curled in over the head of Jones.

Broadwell Amateurs v AEK Boco turned out to be a game of two halves with visitors AEK Boco taking the first 45 minutes and a two goal lead into the break. Boco went ahead after 5 minutes when Broadwell’s central defender Greg Lewis headed the ball straight to Darren Werrett whose shot took a deflection but ended up in the back of the home net. It was Werrett who set up Luke Basseng to net a second gaol for Boco on 36 minutes cutting the ball back from the bye-line for Basseng to fire past home keeper Jamie Merry. The second half belonged to the home side as Kristian Burnard caused Boco problems down the left and it was from one of his breaks that the home side’s first goal came on 52 minutes as he drifted past two defenders before laying the ball on for Jordi Sheen to volley the ball home from 20 yards. The home side levelled the score on 80 minutes when Liam Thomas chased a ball that looked a lost cause and just got there before Boco keeper Joe Pople and then crossed for Harry Williams to head home.

Ruardean Hill Rangers first match for three weeks after the weather had caused them to postpone the previous two. Today’s visitors were Gala Wilton who are languishing near the bottom of the table and although the home side dominated the game they failed to break through the visitor’s defence. The person responsible for making sure that the home side were unable to score was the outstanding performance from Gala Wilton’s keeper Daniel Brabham. He kept an effort from Luke Brown out after 29 minutes before Gala had a good chance on 34 minutes this time it was home keeper Aaron Underwood saving from Ryan Dobbins. Just before the break Bobby Walding headed wide of the target for the home side. 5 minutes into the second half Brabham saved twice in a goalmouth scramble. The visitors had one further chance in the second half an effort from Sam Webb that went just wide. Brabham then pulled off a string of saves from Dan Mason – Luke Johnson and Stuart Conwell-Boote to earn his side a point.

16th December 2017 - Broadwell quick off the mark to win at Frampton

Lebeq United close the gap at the top with a win at Kingswood as Thornbury town are held to a draw at Henbury.

Broadwell Amateurs stunned Frampton United with two goals in the first 13 minutes of this game at the Bell Field. The home side were unable to contain the constant attacking as the visitors went into the lead after just 2 minutes as a cross from the left by Jordi Sheen was headed past keeper James Marklove by Billy Guest. The home side were caught again on 7 minutes from a long free kick to the edge of the Frampton box that Liam O’Neil tried to hook over the bar but only succeeding looping the ball over his own keeper. A low free kick from the edge of the box by Broadwell’s Liam Thomas only just went past the outside of the post and a minute later Jordi Sheen’s shot just dipped over the bar. The home side did manage to get a shot on goal in the 13th minute when Manolo Marquez Espada was just wide with a shot from the edge of the box. Kris Bulley then lifted a fair chance over the bar. At the other end a cracking 25 yard shot from Kristian Burnard was pushed over the bar by Marklove. Liam Thomas broke down the left and sent over a graet cross into the box but Marklove was able to collect.

Frampton pulled a goal back on 59th minute from a long free kick from their own half that bounced awkwardly for the Broadwell defence and Ryan Vincent got behind them and scored with a brilliant shot from a very tight angle. The home side were having a fair share of the ball at this stage and several attacks looked promising but good defending and some excellent goalkeeping from Jamie Merry kept the home side at bay. A third goal on 74 minutes from Broadwell made it tough for the home side to get anything from the game, Kristian Burnard got the ball wide on the left sent over a cross to the far post where Harry Williams was waiting to head past Marklove. The visitors were lucky when a shot from the home side was hammered into the box it was cleared but hit another Broadwell defender it cannoned goal-wards but Merry got down well to save. Danny Latham had a good chance to make it 4-1 on 81 minutes but his shot was just wide of the target. The last action of the afternoon was a good shot from Frampton’s Jake Lowe but Merry was their again.

AEK Boco have jumped to third in the table after thrashing Patchway Town 10-0. The home side dominated the game and restricted the visitors to just one chance that came in the first half a tremendous 30 yard shot from Tom Potterill that went over the bar. The onslaught start on the 14th minute when Jack Green’s shot was saved by the keeper by Harrison Kyte hammered home the rebound. It was Luke Basseng’s chance next to score two quick goals the first he hammered into the bottom corner followed by a header from a Liam Crewe cross. Boco made it 4-0 by the break with a ten pass movement ending with Liam Crewe sending over a cross to the far post for Harrison Kyte to volley home. The fifth on 55 minutes came from centre back Luke Nash who had sauntered forward for a corner saw the ball half cleared to Harrison Kyte and his cross into the six yard box found Nash to stab the ball in. Jack Winter then cruised past several defenders and curled the ball around the keeper and following that Jordan Scott then scrambled the ball home. Darren Werrett’s cross was finished off by Jack Green shooting under the keeper. Jordan Scott then grabbed his second when he was put clear by Kyte. The final goal was knocked in by Jack Green after another scramble in the goalmouth. But for the visitors keeper making at least half a dozen great saves this could well have been a much worse result for Patchway.

Lebeq United came away from Kingswood with a 5-1 win that closed the gap at the top to 6 points and they have two games in hand. The visitors took the lead on 10 minutes from a break down the right and a cross into the near post that was turned in by Nathan Hall. United went two up on 21 minutes another break this time down the left and the cross being turned in by Shah Bhakerd. Then Lebeq missed a penalty just 5 minutes later. Kingswood scored in the 41st minute from a free kick knocked into the box where it bobbled about before Levi Morris lashed it into the net. Elan Plummer then chipped the keeper on 71 minutes for a 3-1 lead and 5 minutes later Plummer cut in from the flank and unleashed a shot that rattled into the bottom corner. The final goal on 83 minute came from the penalty spot put away by Mohamed Eljadei.

Thornbury got out of jail late in their game at Henbury. The home side created the better chances after a very tight first 35 minutes the first opportunity arose on 40 minutes when full-back Tom Palmer broke clear on goal but then failed to get the ball past keeper Tom Sheppard. A minute later George Loud cut in from the flank but then fired the wrong side of the post. Then right on half time Jacob Hicks who was well placed fired over the bar. Henbury took the lead on 53 minutes from a great cross from George Loud that found Andy Dickinson to send a bullet header past Sheppard. Sheppard then saved from Loud pushing the ball around the post for a corner. Thornbury were unlucky in the 65th minute and could have levelled after Dan Rees made a good recovery from his collision with home keeper Dan O’Brien to get his shot on target only to see Aaron Rosser clears the ball off the line. Thornbury did however manage to get the equalising goal on 85 minutes after piling pressure on the home defence Henbury failed to clear and Brandon Benjamin’s low cross was swept in by Substitute Nathan Irwin.

Hardwicke suffered a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Wick who by all accounts were the better side on the day. Wick went ahead on 15 minutes after Harwicke keeper Chris Perks saved well from Jake Robertson only for Joe Thomas to stab the ball home from the rebound. On 26 minutes Wicks’s Shaun Morris picked the ball up and let fly from 25 yards with his shot being well saved by Perks. Perk was in action again a few minutes later this time denying Jake Robertson trying to convert a Danny Sheldon cross. A great 18 yard shot from Hardwicke’s Paul Carter saw Wick keeper Tyler Edmunds pushing the ball over the bar. In the 65th minute Paul Carter sent Will Matthews clear to fire past Edmunds to make it 1-1. Wick grabbed all three points in the 83 minute when Danny Sheldon broke down the right sent in a cross for Alan Williams to slot past Perks.

Stonehouse Town continue to climb the table with another home win this time against bottom Club Hanham Athletic. Andy Maryon gave the home side the lead on 14 minutes with a low shot that the keeper could only help into the net. Maryon was involved in the second goal on 25 minutes setting up Luke Soule to find the back of the visitor’s net. In the 56th minute Tim Williams set off on a mazy run before finding Luke Soule to make it 3-0. Within a minute Hanham had pulled a goal back when Tom Bircham’s through ball set up Jamie Fry to hammer the ball home. Liam Gale’s corner found Dan Stephens to power the ball home in the 66th minute and Jamie Fry was unlucky not to get a second for the visitors but his shot struck the bar.

9th December 2017 - Lancaster impressed as Glos County League rep stars see off stern Somerset challenge

GARY Lancaster reflected on a satisfactory night for his Marcliff Gloucestershire County League representative team as they overcame Somerset County League 2-1 on a soggy night at Oaklands Park, writes Simon Parkinson.

Twaine Plummer emphatically fired them in front on 29 minutes from the penalty spot after the lethal Lebeq marksman had pounced on to a poor keeper clearance and burst towards goal before being upended inside the box.

Ten minutes into the second half Gloucestershire increased their lead as AEK Boco’s Liam Crewe drilled in a flat cross at such pace that an unfortunate backtracking Somerset defender could only steer the ball into his own for 2-0.

Somerset weren’t finished and a defensive mix-up by Gloucestershire led to Shirehampton striker George Brimson nipping in to score in typical predatory fashion 15 minutes from time.

It took some fine saves by Frampton United’s James Marklove, who was given a go between the sticks for the final half-hour as a replacement for Broadwell Amateurs’ own impressive earlier shot-stopper Jamie Merry, to deny the visitors an equaliser.

Lancaster, who was capably assisted on the night by his AEK Boco managerial comrade Clayton Woodman in a role reversal of their usual duties as No.2 and boss respectively at the Hanham home of the ambitious County League high-fliers, acknowledged: “We were sitting deeper and deeper at that stage as Somerset were pushing us hard, just as they did for the first 20 minutes when Jamie Merry was forced into making some cracking saves.

“We did take a while to get going after everyone had taken an absolute drenching from the elements, but that was perhaps down to the fact Somerset had representation from only three clubs in Nailsea & Tickenham, Chilcompton Sports and Shirehampton while we had nine clubs represented and it took that bit of time for them to gel.

“Somerset had that extra bit of fluidity and you could tell many of their lads had played together regularly and maybe we were a bit fortunate to lead by the one goal at half-time.

“I’d made a few changes with Liam Gale and Mike Hardiman lads I’d introduced half an hour or so in, and then Callum Ball and Rob Hine came on for the start of the second half and I made various other substitutions as we went along and eventually we really got to grips with things. Ibrahima Sarr started to dominate central midfield along with Mike and create numerous chances.

“Even after we got our second goal Mike, Liam and Ibrahima all had good opportunities well kept out by their keeper and unfortunately a mix-up involving our own goalie and back three led to their man (Brimson) nipping in and scoring, and it was a close-run thing after that.”

Lancaster enthused: “I enjoyed the experience as I did on my last appearance as manager of the rep team last year against Gwent (2-2) when it lashed down that night too!

“Given all the rain we had this time before the start, and during the early stages, the 3G surface at Oaklands Park was perfect and made for a really good game, competitive yet played in the right spirit. And the referee Sam Williams controlled it really well; there were no naughty tackles to speak of.”

Gloucestershire County League secretary Ron Holpin said: “It was a really good night and although the weather maybe kept a few people away, we managed to raise £70 from gate receipts which will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust.”

Gloucestershire rep starting XI (v Somerset): Jamie Merry (Broadwell Amateurs); Liam Crewe (AEK Boco), Liam O’Neil (Frampton), Peter Fowler (Thornbury), Greg Lewis (Broadwell), Tom Webb (Thornbury); Ibrahima Sarr (Lebeq), Brad Wheadon (AEK Boco), Glenn Gittins (Hardwicke); Twaine Plummer (Lebeq), Sam Hill (Little Stoke). Subs (all used): Liam Gale (Stonehouse), Mike Hardiman (Wick), Callum Ball (AEK Boco), Rob Hine (Hardwicke), James Marklove (Frampton Utd).

9th December 2017 - Hardwicke and Lebeq share spoils

3 Fixtures postponed today in the North of the County leaving just 5 that were completed.

Second place in the table Lebeq United travelled to Hardwicke who are currently lying third on the same number of points but with an inferior goal difference. It was the coldest Saturday of the season so far but the game itself was fast and furious with both sides making it very competitive. Lebeq United might have scored as early as the 6th minute when a ball cut back from the by-line by Shaquille Hunter was basted over the bar by Elan Plummer. Then Cameron Brown tried his luck from 25 yards but that went over the bar as well. At the other end United’s keeper Maciej Jesionowski saved well from a Will Matthews effort. Then Hardwicke keeper Chris Perks saved well at the near post from Hunter. On 23 minutes a long ball out of United’s defence found Elan Plummer who cut into the centre of the box and let fly with a shot that cannoned off the crossbar, Hunter picked it up but then saw his shot pushed away for a corner by Perks. In the 27th minute Mohamed Eljadei lost possession to Steve Bick about 30 yards out, the Hardwicke player headed towards the united goal but his final shot was not good enough to beat the keeper. The 28th minute saw United take the lead with a cracking through ball from Ibrahima Sarr that found Elan Plummer unmarked and he fired the ball past Perks. Within 2 minutes Hardwicke were level as Rich Mansell’s left footed curling free kick to the far post was ushered home by Rob Hine. Hardwicke had another free kick just on the edge of the box and Mansell was on Target but it was saved by the United keeper.

The home side got off to a dreadful start to the second half finding themselves 2-1 down in the 47th minute after Plummer was brought down in the box leaving the referee no choice but to award a penalty. Cameron Brown took the kick and sent Perks the wrong way. The home side were behind for just 5 minutes when Tobie Webb broke into the United box - his shot was well saved by Jesionowski but Will Matthews slotted the ball home to level the score once again. Hardwicke were unlucky when Tobie Webb’s free kick from the flank almost beat the keeper but he just managed to push it onto the bar. Ibrahima Sarr then saw his shot well saved by Perks whilst at the other end Jesionowski pulled off a good save to deny a header from Rob Hine. This result keeps both teams in the same positions in the table with Hardwicke playing a game more.

Kingswood improved their chances of moving up the table with a 6-0 victory over bottom Club Hanham Athletic. The home side went ahead after just 6 minutes from a ball over the defence that Charlie Read latched onto and neatly chipped the keeper. The second goal was rather fortunate as a low cross into the Hanham box was turned into the net by a defender. On 53 minutes Junathian Walker turned in a great cross from Levi Morris. On 75 minutes Hanham were down to 10 men and just after that incident Levi Morris scored from a tight angle to make it 4-0. Kingswood then scored 2 late goals both netted by Nick Bishop the first on 86 minutes and his second 2 minutes into time added.

AEK Boco had 96 spectators watching them on this bitterly cold day against local rivals Wick. The first 45 minutes produced very little in the way of scoring chances with Wick’s Mike Hardiman blasting a free kick from the edge of the box over the bar. Boco started really well in the second half and took the lead within a minute of the start a cross from Liam Jenkins saw Jack Greens looping header give them the lead. The second came on 70 minutes when Luke Basseng sent Scott Jordan clear to score. 5 minutes from the end Luke Basseng set up Liam Powell to run clear with a one on one situation he slotted the ball under him to make the final score 3-0.

Southmead CS Athletic almost pulled off a surprise win at home to Little Stoke who made it easier for the home side when they had Fraser Robertson sent off for a bad tackle in the 19th minute. Goalless at the break the home side went ahead on 50 minutes with a goal from Frank Stallard burying it into the bottom corner from 10 yards. 10 minutes later the home side committed the cardinal sin and gave away a penalty a long ball had been played into the Southmead box there was some pushing and the referee awarded a penalty. Sam Hill took the kick and made no mistake from the spot.

Unfortunately no goals to report between Henbury and Broadwell Amateurs. A near miss from a free kick by Liam Thomas that hit the post was the only effort on goal by the visitors, then just before the break Broadwell’s keeper Jamie Merry brought of a great save to deny Henbury’s George Loud. The home side had a great chance to score on 50 minutes when Jacob Hicks sent over a cross from the flank but both George Loud and Dan Dodimead went for the same ball and the chance was wasted. The home side were down to ten men of 80 minutes when Shaun Heal was dismissed for a second yellow card. The final chance fell to Kieran Cooper in the 89 minute when he found himself clear on goal but took the choice to shoot from 25 yards when he might have got a little closer and the shot was saved.

2nd December 2017 - Rockleaze end winless streak

Rockleaze Rangers recorded their first win since the 30th September with a 4-1 victory over Kingswood. They showed their intentions right from the start when Kingswood’s keeper Chris Fox had to punch the ball clear in the first minute. A free kick from the right saw Malique Christian’s header pushed away by Fox and Bendall following up shot wide. The home side went one up on 16 minutes from a cross from the right flank that was poorly defended by Kingswood and the ball came out to Dan Bendall to fire home from the edge of the box. Kingswood’s first effort after 25 minutes was a shot from Nick Bishop that was easily dealt with by Rangers keeper Will Stabb. Dan Webb then broke clear for Rangers but his shot went wide of the far post. Webb made up for that miss on 33 minutes when his 25 yard shot flew into the top corner for a 2-0 lead. Kingswood failed to make any inroads in the first 45 minutes.

2 minutes into the second half Rangers went 3-0 ahead when Brad Thomas tapped home from a low cross. Bendall should have scored to make it four on 54 minutes but shot wide of the target. Just a couple of minutes later Dan Webb put Rangers 4-0 up. At the other end Kingswood’s Charlie Read hooked the ball just over the bar then on 69 minutes Matt Poole pulled a goal back for the visitors when he was put clear down the right cut into the box and fired the ball past Stabb with a great left foot shot. A 25 yard shot from central defender Adam Eldridge almost gave the visitors some hope but it went just the wrong side of the post.

Patchway Town had no answer to a rampant Henbury side and were defeated 9-1 at home. The star of the day for Henbury without any doubt was the seven goals scored by Jacob Hicks with the other two being netted by George Loud and Craig Davis. The home side were trailing 6-0 at the break and Hicks had scored 5 of them. Henbury were 3-0 up after 15 minutes all scored by Hicks the first a tap in then a low shot into the corner and the third went under the keeper. Two more followed a tap in from close range and a rasping shot from outside the box made it 5-0 with George Loud netting the sixth right on half time. Hicks then netted number seven before Matt Davis pulled a goal back for Patchway but that did not deter the scoring machine of Henbury as Hicks then made it 8-1 and finally Craig Davis scored to make the score nine – one.

The home side lost the services of Rick Davis on 17 minutes with a bad injury and his place was taken by Cameron Brown. Twaine Plumber was only just wide on 25 minutes as the home side started to pile on the pressure which eventually paid off when Elan Plummer burst through to fire past keeper Joe Pople. Boco retook the lead on 70 minutes when Luke Basseng turned and fired home from 10 yards. A rare mistake by Boco keeper Joe Pople handed the home side a life-line when his kick went straight to substitute Cameron Brown to level the score.

Southmead shook the home side on 35 minutes when Lucas Spindola lunged at a low cross into the box and touched the ball home. Lancastle restored the lead in the 51st minute when he found himself in acres of space in the box and slotted the ball in. His third on 72 minutes came from some individual skill rounding two defenders before slotting the ball home.

Wick found themselves on the end of a 2-0 home defeat to Frampton United although they did create several early chances. Frampton also had two good chances to break the deadlock midway through the half but good saves by both goalkeepers and a couple of near misses kept the score-line to 0-0 until the 45th minute when Kris Bulley gave Frampton the lead. The visitors grabbed a second on 60 minutes from a ball into the Wick box that was only half cleared and Manolo Marquez Espada fired a low shot under keeper Tyler Edmonds. The home side had some late chances but were unable to find the back of the Frampton Net.
