29th October - Patchway get the better of Berkeley

With Tuffley Rovers not in action until Tuesday night next week Henbury go top of the table with a slender win at home to Kingswood, but Cribbs Friends Life and Tuffley are only a point behind with games in hand.

Patchway Town moved up to fourth in the table with a 3-0 victory at home to Berkeley Town. A strong wind was blowing straight down the pitch and Patchway took full advantage putting the visitors defence under a lot of pressure right from the off. Berkeley’s keeper brought of a great save after just 5 minutes tipping Jordan Yeo’s free kick over the bar. Then Matt Davis missed a glorious chance just a few minutes later. Yeo broke clear down the right and then shot wide with just Prentice to beat. The home side were on fire as they forced three consecutive corners and then saw Prentice bring of another good save before the ball was eventually cleared off the line by Berkeley. The visitors started to string some good moves together but they failed to test Martin Alford in the home goal. Just before the break Matt Davis missed two glorious chances to put the home side in front.

The home side adapted to the conditions much better than Berkeley and went ahead in the 48th minute with a 25 yard drive from Jordan Yeo that flew past the diving Prentice. Things got worse for the visitors when Sam Strickland was dismissed in the 53rd minute for a tackle that brought him a second booking and a red card. The visitors got caught out in the 66th minute pushing forward and Jordan Yeo got his second with a tremendous shot from the edge of the box. Prentice was in action again in 75th minute this time pushing Brandon Benjamin’s fierce shot over the bar. Patchway clinched the three points with a third goal in the 81st minute as Matt Davis was put clear to hammer the ball past Prentice.

Henbury are the new leaders after a slender 1-0 win at home to Kingswood, but they did not have things all their own way. They grabbed the three points with a goal from Vinny Coote in the 70th minute after Jack Mills broke down the wing crossed into Coote who neatly turned a couple of Kingswood defender and then drove the ball into the corner of the net.

Cribbs Friends Life kept up their challenge with a 4-0 victory at Taverners. Man of the match was Justin Cattle who netted a hat-trick. His first came after 17 minutes when he prodded home a Matt Shaughnessy corner. The second arrived in the 65th minute when he headed home a Jack Kinnerly cross. Simon Bone then made it 3-0 in the 67th minute heading home from 15 yards. Cattle completed his hat-trick in the 80th minute when he picked up a loose ball in the box and fired past the home keeper.

Thornbury Town went down 2-1 at home to bottom Club Yate Town Reserves. Neikell Plummer gave Yate the lead from the penalty spot in the 31st minute but had to wait until the 65th minute before he volleyed home a second to put the visitors 2-0 up. Dean Morgan turned two defenders on the edge of the box and drilled the ball past Josh Dempsey to get Thornbury back into the game, but they could not manage to find another goal to level the score.

Bishops Cleeve Reserves twice took the lead in their home fixture with Kings Stanley but eventually went down 5-2. Stuart Midwinter tucked away a corner after 5 minutes. But Stanley hit back on 16 minutes with a Ben Newman penalty. Cleeve retook the lead two minutes later when Mike Sholly fired home from 12 yards. Ben Newman pulled Stanley level again in the 65th minute, and then Midwinter missed a glorious chance to put the home side 3-2 up in the 70th minute, that miss cost the home side dear as the visitors hit three goals in the last 15 minutes. Nick Humphries made it 4-2 with a double strike and right on time Tim Williams who had come on as a substitute netted number five.

Rockleaze Rangers gained three valuable points with a 3-2 victory over Chipping Sodbury Town. Town took a fortunate lead in the 20th minute when Ben Connelly turned the ball into his own net. The home side leveled the score on 33 minutes after an interchange of passes between Simpson and Burnell, with Burnell passing two defenders to slot the ball home. Cory Simpson then gave the home side the lead when he picked up the ball near the half-way line before threading his way past three defenders before driving the ball home. It became 3-1 in the 55th minute when the Sodbury keeper sent his kick straight to Jack Rivers who held off a defender to run 30 yards to score. Sodbury’s Ben Hopson pulled a goal back in the 65th minute and the rest of the game was played out without any further score.

Hanham Athletic did themselves a proud with a 3-1 win over Longlevens. They got off to a great start with Lucas Hart giving them the lead after 10 minutes when he capitalised on some poor defending in the visitors defence. Five minutes before half-time Calum Gardiner drove home a second for Hanham. George Cryer picked up a loose ball on the edge of the box before finding space to drive home number three on the hour. The visitors went away with a consolation goal scored by Scott Goodhall from a goalmouth scramble in the 80th minute.

Ellwood did really well taking all three points with a 2-1 win at D.R.G. Stapleton. No goals in the first 45 minutes but Ellwood took the lead in the 48th minute when Daryl Addis firing home after Ashley Bryan failed to hold a previous shot on target. The home side leveled on 83 minutes from a Kris Douglas strike on the far post. The visitors stole the points in the first minute of added time, Mike Nelson driving the ball home from twelve yards.

22nd October - Quick starting Henbury take points at Yate

With leaders Cribbs Friends Life playing in the Les James League Cup, Tuffley Rovers had a chance to go top with a win at Chipping Sodbury Town and they did not disappoint.

In the Les James League Cup 2nd round both matches went to penalties after the games had finished all square after 90 minutes. Berkeley Town and Cribbs Friends Life progress to the Semi-finals.

My visit was to Yate Town Reserves to watch then take on high riding Henbury. A change of manager for the Yate team has yet to show any signs of them getting off the bottom of the table as they went down 4-1 to the visitors. They got off to a dreadful start in the first minute when Ian Milne’s 30 yard drive flew over the head of keeper Damien Freemen to put the visitors in front. Eddie Howell then saw his goal bound shot deflected out for a corner. The young Yate team started to get themselves together and in the 27th minute should have leveled the score but Frazer Robertson’s shot from 14 yards was not struck well enough to beat O’Connell in the Henbury goal. Both side shared equal possession in the next 17 minutes and a minute before the break Yate drew level as Sam Williams’ shot from just inside the box took a slight deflection on its way into the Henbury net.

Unfortunately for the home side they conceded a second goal in the first minute of the restart as Gary Clark drove the ball past Freemen from just outside the box. Yate should have leveled again on 50 minutes as Sam Williams got behind the Henbury defence, flicked the ball onto the upright and then hit the ball wide of the far post from the rebound. Henbury went 3-1 up in the 56th minute from a Ben Sandle shot that screamed past Freeman in the Yate goal. Henbury wrapped up the points in the 75th minute as Adam Rosser broke down the right and sent over a low cross to the far post where Eddie Howell came steaming in to give Freeman no chance. This win puts Henbury into second place in the table.

Tuffley Rovers take over top spot with a 4-1 victory at Chipping Sodbury Town. The man of the match was Rovers Ryan Parker who netted a hat-trick. Parker opened the scoring in the 22nd minute when he bundled home a Marcus Foxwell cross, then right on half time Mike England leveled from the home side from the penalty spot. Three minutes into the second half Parker was played through and scored from the edge of the box and Richard James made it 3-1 on the hour mark when he was put clear to round the keeper and slide the ball home. Parker completed his hat-trick in the 85th minute with a superb glancing header into the far corner.

Six goals shared at Kingwood with visitors Bishops Cleeve Reserves. Stuart Midwinter put the visitors ahead in the 40th minute and then just after the break they went 2-0 up when Alex Buckland ran clear of the home defence to score. Ryan Mudd turned four Cleeve defenders before rounding the keeper to pull a goal back for Kingswood in the 50th minute. Kingswood had a great chance to level in the 65th minute but Adam Harber missed from the penalty spot. He made up for that error just a minute later as he turned in a Josh Stokes cross. Kingswood got their noses in front in the 74th minute when a cross from Josh Stokes was netted by Frank Hitchings, but within two minutes Cleeve leveled when Stuart Midwinter got the ball into the net after a goalmouth scramble.

A really entertaining game at the Wise campus as Bristol Academy took revenge for last weeks GFA Cup defeat at Patchway Town with a 4-3 home win in the league. Scott Wilson gave the home side the lead from a through ball by Malik Jammeh on 17 minutes, then a minute later they went two up when Alex Fox hit a 25 yard shot that hit the inside of the post on its way in. Patchway pulled a goal back in the 24th minute after Matt Davis pulled the ball back from the byline for Matt Tovey to finish. In the 28th minute Academy scored number three when Malik Jammeh’s shot was spilled by the Patchway keeper and Scott Wilson followed up to score. Matt Tovey netted his second on 50 minutes after the ball had been headed back across goal, and the visitors were level after 80 minutes with a header from Danny Webb. Academy got the winner five minutes from time when Alex Fox headed home a corner from Malik Jammeh.

Taverners improve their league position with a 3-0 win at home to Rockleaze Rangers. Russ Chamberlin netted the first after 25 minutes with a volley from 25 yards, and then Freddie Latchford latched onto a long ball to chip the keeper for the second in the 38th minute. Richard Kerry’s 20 yard volley in the 70th minute wrapped up the points for Taverners. Rockleaze had their chance throughout the game but never managed to get the ball past Jeremy Ward in the home goal.

Thornbury Town shocked Longlevens coming away with three points after a very good 5-1 victory. Town went ahead in the 9th minute when a cross from Luke Garbacz deceived everyone and crept into the net. They went 2-0 up in the 14th minute when Ben Purdy chased a long ball and then neatly chipped the keeper. In the 44th minute Purdy headed his second to give Thornbury a 3-1 lead at the break. In the 64th minute a cross from Garbacz to the far post was knocked home by Christian Irwin and a free kick from Garbacz in the 74th minute gave the visitors a very good win.

Ellwood slipped up at home to Hanham Athletic after playing out a goalless fist 45 minutes and the game not very inspiring it looked as though it could be a possible 0-0 score-line was broken in the 85th minute with a George Cryer strike to give the visitors the three points.

Berkeley Town reached the Semi-final of the Les James League Cup winning 3-2 on penalties after the score finished 2-2 after 90 minutes. James Mackie gave Berkeley the lead after he picked up a rebound from a Tom Andrews shot on 35 minutes. Chris Andrews looked to have made the game safe after 74 minute when he turned in Sam Strickland’s cross, but Kings Stanley hit back with two late goals from Liam Gale on 85 minutes and Ben Newman in the very last minute to send the tie into penalties.

Cribbs Friends Life v D.R.G Stapleton in the other Les James League Cup game played today also ended 1-1 after 90 minutes. Jack Kimberly’s pass to Justin Cattle was cut back for Simon Bone to give the home side the lead after 35 minutes, but D.R.G. leveled on 50 minutes when Nathan Lumbers sliding tackle saw the player handle the ball and give away a penalty, Matt Maynard leveled the score from the spot and with no further score the tie went to penalties. It was a day to remember for the home team keeper Turner as he saved three penalties to help his side reach the semi-final.

15th October - Longlevens into league cup semi final

Just two league fixtures today and a second round Les James League Cup match.

Longlevens progress to the semi-finals of the Les James League Cup competition with a 3 – 0 win over Chipping Sodbury Town.

There was a bright start to the game as Sodbury’s Lucas Chard had his powerful shot saved well by home keeper Lee Martin. Another attack down the left by Sodbury saw Chards cross well met by Ricky Hemmings but his header was easily read by the keeper. The home side’s real assault on goal after 11 minutes brought the opening goal, Nick Bradley firing past Ed Mullins after a neat inter change of passes with Andy Trout. At the other end Mike Chilcot saw his goal bound effort deflected on to the bar and out for a corner. A couple of minutes later John Williams saw his effort deflected away for a corner. Andy Trout should have made it 2 – 0 to Longlevens when he picked up the ball in midfield and got beyond the visitors defense then shot straight at Mullins. He made up for this error in the 27th minute when a long ball from the right found Trout unmarked and he fired a low shot under Mullins to give Longlevens a 2- 0 lead. Dave Merrick had a great chance to increase the score in the 32nd minute but the shot was not good enough to beat the keeper. A couple of minutes later John Oughtred received the ball from Merrick but his header struck the cross bar and was cleared.

The second half never really got going until the 66th minute when Sodbury had a free-kick that was pumped into the box and the home defence only just managed to scramble it away. In the 75th minute Mullins brought off a tremendous save from Lee Blackmore who had come on as a sub for the home side. A minute later John Oughtred picked up a loose ball on the right and from a full forty yards hit the ball goal wards, the shot decieved keeper Ed Mullins and the ball flew over his head into the net to put the home side 3 – 0 up. An excellent win for the home side against a Sodbury team who are struggling to find the back of the net.

King Stanley’s indifferent form at home continues as they go down 3 – 2 to Thornbury Town. The visitors took the lead after ten minutes when a cross from the right was headed in from close range by Pete Fowler. Stanley’s Sam Prior went close with a shot from the edge of the box and Liam Gale might have leveled with another shot that just shaved the post. Trailing 1 – 0 at the break Stanley hit back in the 50th minute when Liam Gales cross from the right was neatly swept in by Ben Newman. The home side then took the lead on the hour mark Liam Gale firing home a far post cross. With in five minutes Thornbury drew level when Ben Purdy’s shot looped over the keeper. Liam Gale had another good chance to put the home side in front but his shot skimmed past the far post. The killer blow came in the 80th minute when Stanley’s defence failed to clear a cross into the box and Nathan Irwin chipped the keeper to give Thornbury an excellent win.

In the other league match of the day between Bishops Cleeve Reserves and Henbury which created very few chances through-out, although Cleeve had much the better of the second half with neither side breaking the deadlock with the game finishing all square at 0 – 0.

15th October - GFA Trophy Round up

Three Gloucestershire County Football League teams made it through to the next round. D.R.G. Stapleton, Patchway Town and Taverners.

D.R.G Stapleton overcame Toolstation League 1 opponents Oldland Abbotonians on a penalty shootout after the score had finished 2-2 on 90 minutes and both clubs failed to score in extra time.

Joe Galsworthy latched onto a back header from an Oldland defender to give the home side a 23rd minute lead. Matt Brown leveled for the visitors on 41 minutes with a simple tap in, but three minutes later the home side were back in front when Luke Hall –Cousins scored from a free kick. A late goal by Dave Pollinger sent the tie into extra time with D.R.G. Stapleton eventually going through 2-1 on penalties.

Patchway Town and Bristol Academy were pitted against each other with the home side progressing with a very close 3-2 win. Neil Blunden gave Patchway the lead but the Academy hit back with a goal from Scott Wilson. Just before the break Jordan Yeo gave the home side the lead and then Brandon Benjamin made it 3-1 in the second half. Ibrahima Diallo pulled a goal back for the Academy but Town held on for the win.

Berkeley Town took the lead at home to Taverners with a goal from Sam Strickland on 41 minutes, but it was the visitors who progressed to the next round with a double strike from Freddie Latchford on 47 and 57 minutes.

Last seasons Gloucestershire County Football League Champions Brimscombe & Thrupp were drawn at home to Rockleaze Rangers and got off to a flying start when Matt Green netting in the first minute when faced with a one on one situation. It was Green again with an almost identical situation that netted a second on 20 minutes. Rockleaze hit back in the 35th minute with a header from Richard Bray, but two second half goals by the home side the first from matt Boucher on 48 minutes and a penalty from Mike Beckingham in the 80th minute saw them safely through to the next round.

Gloucester City Development made sure of their place in the next round with a 4-0 victory over struggling Yate Town Reserves.

Two first half goals saw Ellwood go down 2-0 to Hellenic League Premier opposition Slimbridge. Karl Nash opened the scoring after just 5 minutes for the visitors and right on half time Jamie Martin drove the ball home at the far post following a corner.

Hanham Athletic took on Roman Glass St George but were well beaten by 3 goals to nil. The Saints took the lead from the penalty spot in the 35th minute Jamie Johnson netting from the spot, then five minutes later they went 2-0 up Andrew Hamilton-Jones netted following the home defense failing to clear. Saints wrapped the game up in the 75th minute with a second goal from Andrew Hamilton-Jones when he fired home from the edge of the box.

8th October - Cribbs win top of table clash

In the clash between the top two clubs in the league Tuffley Rovers and Cribbs Friends Life it was the visitors who stole the show on the day with an excellent 3-0 win.

This win sends Cribbs friends Life back to the top on goal difference but Tuffley Rovers still have a game in hand. The game started brightly and Tuffley had the ball cleared of the line in the first minute and a few minutes later Chris Perks in the Rovers goal was at full stretch to save Simon Bones goal-bound shot. But from the resulting corner disaster struck for Rovers keeper Perks as he fell awkwardly trying to collect the ball and after several minutes of attention from the therapist he was carried from the field to the dressing rooms on a stretcher. His place in goal was taken by Kacey Johnsone from the subs bench Kacey being an out field player normally. The first test for Johnstone came in the 15th minute when he rose above the defence to punch clear from a cross. A couple of minutes later Jack Kinnerly’s break down the left and cross into the box was scrambled away by the Rovers defence and then Dave Truan saw his twenty yard shot spilled by the stand in keeper but he managed to recover the ball in time. The opening goal came in the 24th minute from a corner and again Johnstone went out to punch the ball clear but only succeeded in sending straight to Dominic Graffagnino just inside the box and he hooked the ball over all the Rovers defenders and just under the cross bar. The visitors looked just that bit sharper than the home side and a Jack Kinnerly break down the left almost brought a second but the cross into the box saw Nick Lloyd hit his shot over the bar. Rover’s first real chance came in the 39th minute when Shane Bradley should have leveled from a good cross into the box from Ryan Parker but he headed wide from 8 yards.

Two minutes into the second half a free kick from Graffagnino was spilled by Johnstone but the keeper managed to grab the ball as it spun towards goal. The visitors struck again in 50th minute as Nick Lloyd stuck a low ball into the bottom corner with Johnstone getting a foot to it but could not prevent it going in. Rovers were a little unlucky not to have scored in the 54th minute as Ryan Parkers free kick struck the crossbar with Turner well beaten. Shane Bradley had another great chance to pull one back but he headed a good cross into the box straight at Turner. A few minutes later Bradley fired over after Parker had again found him in the box. With just a few minutes left Parker again found Bradley in the box but it was not the striker’s day as once again he headed wide. The visitors compounded the misery for Rovers in the last minute of the game as Ryan McKillop interchanged passes with Justin Cattle before driving his shot past Johnstone for a third goal.

Longlevens made it another poor day for Yate Town Reserves hammering five into their net without reply. Yate were up against it after 35 minutes when Barry Young was sent off leaving them with 10 players for the rest of the game. They held firm until the 41st minute when Andy Trout’s shot was saved by the Yate keeper but Scott James knocked home the rebound. Worse was to follow in the second half as the home side scored a further four times. Craig Martin netted number two at a second attempt on 56 minutes and Martin was again on target in the 72nd minute when he drove home a John Oughtred cross. John Oughtred then volleyed home on 80 minutes from a Scott Goodall cross and five minutes later full back Ryan Dunn overlapped down the wing before firing the ball under the keeper to complete the scoring.

Patchway Town hammered four past the Chipping Sodbury defence without reply. Matt Davis netted the opening goal on 25 minutes then two goals in the space of ten minutes just after the break from Matt Tovey and Mark Palmer gave the home side a comfortable lead until the 90th minute when Keith Williams netted from the penalty spot to send the visitors home empty handed.

D.R.G. Stapleton were held to a 2-2 draw by Bristol Academy who had twice taken the lead during the game. Malik Jammeh gave the visitors the lead on 20 minutes with a 20 yard shot that looped over the keeper. The home side hit back in the 33rd minute as Joe Galsworthy netted. Alex Fox put the Academy in front when the home keeper misjudged a cross and left Fox with an empty net. Just before the break Joe Galsworthy netted his second to level the score which remained the same throughout the rest of the game.

Thornbury Town went down 2-1 at home to Ellwood. Lee Scotford gave Ellwood the lead on 15 minutes and right on half time they went 2-0 up with a Matt Addis strike. Thornbury hit back with a goal from Ben Purdie but failed to find the back of the net again.

Hanham Athletic won their home fixture with Berkeley Town 2-1 but it could well have been a much bigger score-line. Hanham took the lead inside 10 minutes as James Shipman swept home Shaun Morris’s cross and it was Shipman again on 20 minutes who scored again to give the home side a 2—0 cushion. Berkeley Town clawed a goal back on the hour with a James Mackie strike. A good win for the home side.

Taverners gained a much needed 2-1 victory over Kingswood and went ahead in the 40th minute when Josh Blunt drove home from 30 yards following a corner. Freddie Latchford then gave Luke Bartlett a great chance to make it 2-0 in the 60th minute as he placed the ball past the keeper. Kingswood hit back with a late goal on 85 minutes as a loose ball was latched onto by Gavin Dibden to drive the ball home.

1st October - Rockleaze denied as Kingswood snatch late point

Tuffley Rovers go top with a convincing win at Kings Stanley whilst Cribbs Friends Life sink to a second successive defeat at Patchway Town.

With the weather unbelievable for this time of the year I decided to travel to Kingswood this week to watch this lower reaches of the table contest. I have seen better performances from both teams in the past.

Rockleaze almost opened the scoring in the eight minute but for a brilliant save by the home keeper Chris Fox from a Callum Oakenfold effort in the six yard box. The home side were caught out in the 12th minute as Oakenfold broke through the home defence just inside their half and ran clear to slot the ball past Fox from just on the edge of the box. The home sides first effort on goal came after 23 minutes with a shot from Paul Bleaken that was on target but the visitors keeper Pullara had it covered. The home side drew level on 30 minutes with a good piece of football down the left that sent Paul Bleaken clear and his pinpoint cross was headed past Pullarra by Gavin Dibden. Jack Rivers went close to giving Rockleaze the lead in the 42nd minute with a header that went just wide and Tom Higgins missed a glorious chance to score for the home side right on half time.

Kingswood should have taken the lead in the 57th minute from a free kick that was hit to the far post by Josh Stokes but Mike Rodman who had moved up from the back was inches wide with his header. At the other end Shane Budding was just wide with his shot from the edge of the box. The visitors took the lead in the 62nd minute as Matt Exton drifted into the middle passing several home defenders before sliding the ball through to Callum Oakenfold to chip the ball past Fox for his second of the afternoon. Fox then brought of an excellent save in the 79th minute to deny Ben Lear who had come on as a sub for Rockleaze. Dibden hit the bar with a header with 2 minutes to go for Kingswood, then in the very last minute of the game the home side salvaged a point when a long ball from keeper Fox was latched onto by Tom Higgins down the left and his cross into the box found Gavin Dibden to drive the ball past Pullara to make the final score 2-2.

Tuffley Rovers are the new leaders with a 4-1 victory over close rivals Kings Stanley. Shane Bradley gave the visitors the lead on 15 minutes scoring with a shot from a very tight angle that struck the inside of the upright on its way in. Stanley leveled the score on 35 minutes when Paul Day and Danny Stevens set up Sam Prior to score. Three minutes later Rovers were back in the lead when Callum Preece netted the first of his three goals of the afternoon. Preece then netted his second and third in the space of five minutes into the second half the first on 47 minutes and a second on 49 minutes to complete his hat-trick.

A single goal at Patchway Town netted from the penalty spot by Jordan Yeo in the 65th minute was enough for the home side to take all three points and condemn Cribbs Friends Life to a second defeat on the trot. Keith Williams missed great chance late on for the home side but in the end it did not matter.

Henbury keep up their challenge at home to Taverners with yet another slender 1-0 win a goal scored in the 75th minute by Henbury skipper Eddie Howell from the penalty spot. Taverner’s keeper was in good form as he denied any further score by the home side.

Ellwood and Longlevens share a point each with a 1-1 scoreline. No goals in the first 45 minutes. Ellwood’s Tim Yemm brought off a great save to deny John Oughtred netting from the penalty spot. Jamie Addis put the home side one up in the 80th minute but five minutes later James French leveled the score for Longlevens. Ellwood had a great chance to steal all three points in the 89th minute but Jamie Addis missed from the penalty spot.

Chipping Sodbury Town jumped to the middle of the table from third from bottom with an excellent 3-2 victory over D.R.G. Stapleton The home side took a 3-0 lead the opening goal coming in the 32nd minute when Mike Hodge drove the ball against the upright and John Williams netting from the rebound. It was 51 minutes before the second arrived this time from a free kick that was hit to the far post and Ben Rhodes headed it back across goal where Alex Cummings was waiting to pounce. Four minutes later they were three up this time a long ball up field was neatly chested down by Ben Rhodes who then volleyed the ball into the net from the edge of the box. The visitors hit back in the 63 minute when a long ball from their keeper Ashley Bryan was poorly dealt with by the home defence and Ben Burrell nipped in to score. In the 87th minute a mistake by the home keeper mistiming a cross into the box allowed Hannin Romadine to head the ball home. The home side managed to hold on to the final whistle and take 3 much needed points.

Bristol Academy recorded their best win of the season with a 4-1 victory over Hanham Athletic. They went ahead after 2 minutes when Malik Jammeh netted from a corner. Alex Fox made it 2-0 on 18 minutes when he passed the ball into the net. Scott Wilson made it three in the 40th minute, but just before the break Darren Burt pulled one back for the visitors. A second goal by Scott Wilson in the 62nd minute completed the scoring for the afternoon.

Berkeley Town and Thornbury Town finished all square with a 2-2 draw at Station Road. Paul Brooks opened the scoring for Berkeley Town in the 38th minute turning in a Sam Strickland cross. Thornbury drew level a minute before half time with a goal from Dean Morgan. Chris Andrews put Berkeley ahead again in the 80th minute but Pete Fowler netted a second for Thornbury just 3 minutes later.
