27^th December 2016 - Quick starting Thornbury extend lead at top

Thornbury Town increase their lead at the top of the table to five points after winning at second place Stonehouse Town. Frampton United are held to a draw at home to Little Stoke but move into second with Stonehouse dropping to third.

At the bottom Gala Wilton win again and open up a gap between Hanham Athletic and Southmead CS Athletic.

The top game of the day was the clash between Stonehouse Town who were second in the table at the start of the match and leaders Thornbury Town at Oldends Lane. The visitors were looking to put right the earlier result at home when they were beaten by the hosts on that occasion. It was a cold day but 164 spectators turned out to watch the clash of the titans. The first few minutes saw both sides cautiously trying to prevent any mistakes but it took Thornbury just five minutes to get off the mark when Craig Lancastle created some space just inside the box and fired his shot past keeper Will Pedrick. A couple of minutes later the home side might have levelled from a free kick but the ball pumped into the box and after a couple of missed place passes the ball was eventually cleared. The visitors doubled their score on nine minutes when full back Tom Webb cut inside the defender fed the ball to Luke Franklin who took one touch before hammering the ball past Pedrick from twenty five yards. A minute later we had the first booking – Andy Maryon fouled Thornbury full back Webb. A cracking shot from Stonehouse’s Alex Kibble was spilled by Lippiatt but there was nobody following up. Then came the second booking as Thornbury’s Luke Franklin went into the book. In the seventeenth minute the hosts pulled a goal back from a thirty five yard free kick that was well struck by Tim Williams and a lot of movement in the box unsighted the Thornbury keeper and the ball ran straight through and into the net. The home side picked up their second booking on thirty minutes when Luke Barstow was cautioned for a foul. Some good work down the right by the visitors saw Franklin shot well saved by Pedrick. Then in the thirty sixth minute Jonathon Brodie pulled his shot wide of the target. Two minutes before the break Will Pedrick brought off a great save to deny Danny Thompson but the ball ran loose and was cleared off the line. A third booking for the home side right on half time this time Alex Kibble was cautioned for a bad tackle.

The hosts started the better side in the second half and almost levelled when Liam Gale got a low shot on target Lippiatt parried it and it spun goalwards but Nathan Sage managed to clear off the line. Joe Martin then cut into the box unleashed a good shot but somehow Thornbury managed to get the ball away for a corner. In the sixty sixth minute the visitors had a stroke of luck when Scott McLeod’s shot was deflected into the path of Mark Viner who slotted the ball home. On seventy minutes a cross from the right saw Ben Jones direct a good header on goal but Lippiatt dived full length to gather. The hosts were reduced to ten men in the seventy fifth minute when Alex Kibble received a straight red card for a foul on Lippiatt. With just two minutes of the ninety left Stonehouse picked up yet another booking when Jordan Fletcher was cautioned for a foul. in the last minute of the ninety Stonehouse got a second goal and it came from a good shot from Jordan Fletcher that Lippiatt failed to hold and Jonathan Brodie knocked the ball over the line from two yards.

A sound win at Kingswood where the hosts gained a comfortable four – nil victory. The home side got off the a cracking start and took the lead on five minutes after Gary Simmons and Jamie Evans interchanged passes to send Simon Clarke through to beat the visitors keeper Cameron Tarr. On twenty minutes Jordan Simms went close when his lob beat the keeper but just went over the bar. Jamie Evans should have made it two for the home side on forty three minutes but faced with just the keeper to beat he failed miserably. However on fifty minutes Evens broke clear through the visitors defence and coolly squared the ball back for Frank Hitchings to tap home. It was three – nil a minute later when Jordan Simms lobbed Cameron from a very tight angle. Jamie Evans missed another good chance on sixty two minutes. Southmead got their first real chance in the sixty eighth minute as Rob Sivers shot on goal was saved by keeper Fox and he then saved the follow up by Sivers. On seventy three minutes Simon Clarke hit the upright from a twenty five yard free kick. On seventy four minutes Kingswood made a double substitution on came Archie Bennett and Dan Griffiths and they immediately made an impact as Bennett broke down the flank squared the ball across and with his very first touch Dan Griffiths made it four – nil.

Frampton United had to fight back from a two goal deficit to earn a point against Little Stoke. The visitors went ahead on two minutes from a break down the right and a cross into the box by Owen Greening and Russ Church hammered the ball home. Little stoke doubled their score on fifteen minutes from a corner that was headed past his own keeper by Kris Bulley. The home side got a goal back in the eighteenth minute from a Kris Bulley cross that was sliced into his own net by Ollie Bacon. Frampton got the equaliser in the fifty eighth minute as Jack Bartman turned in a Joe Wilton cross.

Henbury took the lead against their hosts Lebeq United on thirty five minutes when a cross from Ross Johnson picked out the unmarked Caelen Simpson to drive the ball past keeper Amin Jones from ten yards. Earlier Clinton Wilson had missed a couple of chances to put the home side in front. Just before the break Jack Mills went close for the visitors but the header went just over the bar. The home side drew level in the sixty second minute when Kelvin Williams headed in Ibrahima Sarr’s cross. Just three minutes later the home side were in front a well struck drive from Shah Bhakerd. The visitors hit back in the fourth minute of added time from a thirty yard free kick taken by Jack Mills that struck the upright and Danny Simpson netted the rebound.

Seven goals at Hardwicke where the home side were on the end of a four three defeat. It was the home side who took an early lead on five minutes a corner sent over by Craig Harris was headed clear by the Rangers defence but it went straight to Tobie Webb who drove the ball in from the edge of the box. Rangers equalised five minutes later when Kane Simpson was put clear to slide the ball past keeper Kenny Edward. Rangers went two –one up on nineteen minutes Kane Simpson getting a second heading in from a corner. Hardwicke drew level on sixty minutes from a cross that was flicked on by Will Matthews for Ed Rimmer to cut in and score. Hardwicke retook the lead on seventy seven minutes from an error by the visitor’s keeper that allowed Kieran Squires to slot the ball home. Rangers soon levelled again from a good build up that was neatly finished off by Kye Simpson. Rangers snatched all three points one minute into time added when Kye Simpson netted his second with a chip over Edwards.

Gala Wilton gained another three points to help them escape the relegation zone with a two – nil win over AEK Boco. The opening goal came from a cross into the box that Kyle Bakewell managed to slice of his head into the Boco net. Then near the end a breakaway by the home side brought a second goal scored by Peter Boyle.

Patchway Town found themselves trailing two – nil to today’s visitors Hanham Athletic. The visitors went one up after twelve minutes when Patchway defender Matt Webb fouled Adam Grinter in the box with Grinter then dispatching the spot kick. Five minutes later it was two – nil to the visitors as Grinter netted his second. Matt Davies set up Luke Grabacz but he pulled his shot wide of the target. On thirty six minutes Davies had the opportunity to pull a goal back but keeper Max Heaven had other ideas. The home side did however pull a goal back right on half time with a powerful shot from Ben Dowdell. On fifty eight minutes the home side drew level and it was Matt Davies squaring the ball back for Ben Dowdell to grab his second. The winner came in the eighty fifth minute with Dowdell this time being the provider has he crossed for Geriant Williams to finish off.

Broadwell Amateurs will be the fourth team to reach the Semi-final after their four – one win at Bristol Telephones. A goal in the twentieth minute from a poor clearance by the home side allowed Dan Latham to round the keeper to put Broadwell in front. Ross Gabriel gave the visitors a two – nil lead on fifty five minutes and the home side had a player dismissed. Ben Griffiths hit the post on seventy minutes for the home side then in the eightieth minute Phones scored and it came from a break down the flank by Ben Griffiths and a cross right onto the head of Dhani Golding. The home side pushed forward but to no avail and fell further behind with two late goals from the visitors the first from Kristian Burnard and a second for Ross Gabriel.

17^th December 2016 - Frampton win at AEK Boco

With Stonehouse Town’s game at Bishops Cleeve Reserves postponed it gave Thornbury Town a chance to go three points clear at the top. Today’s visitors at Thornbury were local rivals Patchway Town and they had other ideas and held the leaders to a draw. Frampton United march on with another good win at AEK Boco and Bristol Telephones stay fourth after their home win over Lebeq United.

At the bottom end of the table there is some movement as Gala Wilton win at Hanham Athletic and bottom Club Southmead CS Athletic picked up their second point of the season.

After watching Frampton United’s demolition of Hanham Athletic last week we travelled to Hanham to see how they would perform against today’s hosts AEK Boco. This was not a good performance from the home side with only one real chance on goal in the ninety minutes of play. The opening ten minutes was all huff and puff from both sides neither being able to settle. Then in the tenth minute Frampton took the lead from a long ball into the box that was met by Dan Huxstep whose powerful header was really well saved by keeper Joe Pople but the ball dropped right at the feet of Jack Bartman who could not miss. Frampton preferred the long ball throughout the game and relied on pace up front to get them through. On thirteen minutes the visitors were two – nil up when a move down the left found Joe Wilton latching on to a loose ball cutting inside and unleashing a thirty yard drive that Pople was unable to keep out of his net. Wilton had another chance to get on the score sheet but this time he shot wide of the target. The home side were unable to break through a stubborn Frampton defence and it took Boco thirty minutes to get a shot on target and it came from left back Callum Ball who hit a sweet shot from twenty five yards but straight at keeper Marklove. United had one more chance to increase their lead before the break when a cross into the box from the right was met by Myron Turner but he failed to get his shot on target.

Frampton started well in the second half and a shot from Kris Bulley had Pople diving to his left to save. Although the home side were enjoying much more possession they never really looked like scoring, then in the sixty sixth minute Frampton scored a third and again it came from Joe Wilton who cut in from the left passed several defenders before firing a low shot past Pople from the edge of the box. The home side almost caught Marklove out with a cross that looked as though it might dip under the bar but the keeper pushed it out for a corner. The visitors hammered the nail in on eighty four minutes from a free kick on the edge of the box that was fired low across the box and Karl Palmer who had come on as a substitute steered the ball home.

Thornbury Town were not at the races today as a well below performance ended in a one – one draw against local rivals Patchway Town. The home side’s first effort on goal was a good move by Lancastle and Franklin but the latter’s shot was well saved by the keeper. In fact Patchway were the better side for the first fifteen minutes but they were unable to break through and by the break it was still level at nil- nil. The opening goal on fifty five minutes came from the visitor’s and it was a break down the right to the by-line and the ball squared back across goal where Thornbury’s central defender Pete Fowler unfortunately turned the ball into his own net in trying to clear. The home side levelled the score ten minutes later in similar fashion Tom Webb getting to the by-line and squaring the ball back across goal where the visitors defence failed to clear and the ball fell invitingly to Mark Viner to drive home from six yards. Patchway Town were reduced to ten men on seventy minutes when Liam Planter received a second yellow card but the home side were unable to make the extra man count and the final score finished one – one.

Excitement galore at Little Stoke where Hardwicke went away with a point after a four – four score line. Stoke took an early lead when Luke Sperring headed home a Fraser Robinson corner on five minutes. A great through ball to Sasha Tong on twenty minutes saw him out pace the Hardwicke defence to make it two – nil. Just two minutes later Hardwicke pulled a goal back when Tobie Webb headed home from a free kick. Stoke regained their two goal advantage from some good play between Fraser Robinson and Russ Church with the ball being sent into the box for Sahsa Tong to hit a low shot into the corner of the net. What had been a first half belonging to the home side suddenly took a turn when Craig Harris scored from the edge of the box two minutes into the second half to make it three – two. The visitors were level after fifty seven minutes when Stokes Matt Price conceded a penalty and Richard Mansell netted from the spot. A Sahsa Tong header in the seventy fifth minute to complete his hattrick put the home side in front again but the visitors would not lie dawn and levelled once again on eighty minutes when Ed Rimmer headed home.

Southmead CS Athletic gained only their second point of the season after drawing one - one with local rivals Henbury. The home side opened brightly and Dan Richards had a good chance to score in the second minute but shot straight at the keeper. Henbury’s Jack Mills went just wide with a shot a few minutes later. Henbury went ahead on thirty one minutes from a shot that was blocked but Ross Johnson was on hand to net the rebound. The lead lasted eleven minutes when Rob Sivers latched on to a dreadful back pass and slotted the ball home. Luke Bayford hit the cross bar on fifty minutes for the home side and in the dying minutes Henbury were unlucky with a shot that hit the crossbar.

Bristol Telephones with games in hand kept up their challenge with a three - two win at home to Lebeq United. The opening goal did not come until the forty first minute and it went to the home side after Dhani Golding had been brought down in the box. Hanin Romdhane was then given the chance from the penalty spot and he did not disappoint. Three minutes into the second half Lebeq levelled from a Shah Bhakerd shot from twenty yards that deceived the home keeper. The home side went into a three - one lead with in two minutes late in the game. The first on eighty minutes was a header by Ryan Hicks from a free kick and then two minutes later Kerion Hunts shot was parried by the visitor’s keeper and Dhani Golding was on hand to head home. Right on ninety minutes Lebeq were awarded a penalty and Shah Bhakerd netted his second of the afternoon from the penalty spot.

Broadwell Amateurs striker Ross Gabriel completed a fine hat-trick to give his side a three - one victory over today’s visitor’s Kingswood. Kingswood opened the better but failed to break through as the home side gradually grew into the game. Kristian Burnard and Danny Latham both went close for the home side and Simon Clarke was only just wide with a header on the far post for Kingswood. The home side took the lead on thirty minutes from a cross into the box from Burnard that was sweetly volleyed home by Ross Gabriel. A minute into the second half it was two – nil to the home side as Kingswood failed to clear the ball from a corner and Gabriel picked up the loose ball and fired home. Gabriel made it three on the hour mark netting again from a corner. Kingswood got themselves a consolation on seventy two minutes from a Gary Simmons shot that took a deflection on its way into the net.

Rockleaze Rangers never really got to grips with this game and could have gone behind in the sixth minute when Adam Loveridge hit the post with the keeper beaten. The only goal of the game came in the forty ninth minute after the home side got in a muddle at the back and allowed Loveridge through with a one on one situation to fire home. The home side’s Marcus Williams did get the ball in the back of the Cheltenham net in time added at the end but it was rules out for offside.

Hanham Athletic have dropped to second from bottom after they went down one – nil at home to Gala Wilton who moved up that one place. The home side controlled this game for long periods but could not break down the Gala defence. The game had to wait until the sixty second minute for the winner and it came from Daniel Leese who ran thirty yards before unleashing a shot that keeper Max Heaven could only parry and Leese followed up to net the rebound. Although the home side had numerous free kicks and corners they were unable to find that elusive goal.

10^th December 2016 - Frampton smash seven past Hanham

Stonehouse Town are off the top for the first time this season after losing at Kingswood with Thornbury Town winning at Gala Wilton they are now the new leaders.

The game at Frampton United and Hanham Athletic ended in a resounding victory for the home side but after forty five minutes the game had only one goal between the sides with Frampton leading two - one at the break.

The home side got off to a flying start and went ahead after five minutes from a break down the left flank by Myron Turner and his cross into the box was knocked in by Kris Bulley for the first of his three goals of the afternoon. Jack Bartman had Hanham keeper Max Heaven at full stretch to save his thunderous 25 yard drive on twenty two minutes. Both sides seam to cancel each other out for long periods with very little goalmouth action. Hanham’s Dan Wingfield had their first shot at the target on thirty seven minutes but it went wide. Then two minutes before the break a long ball out to the right from the visitors defence found Jack Hussey and he took the ball to the edge of the box before striking a superb shot past Marklove to level the score. But within a minute Frampton were back in front Kris Bulley striking a superb shot across Heaven from twenty five yards.

The weather conditions were bad throughout the game as the pitch began to get slippery. Frampton might have scored a third on fifty three minutes but a last ditch tackle saved the day. Kris Bulley had a great chance to net his third of the afternoon with a clear shot on goal but keeper Heaven narrowed the angle and saved well. However Bulley did get his hattrick on sixty two minutes as he received the ball thirty yards out struck a low shot through the visitor’s defence where Heaven was unsighted and the ball flew into the bottom corner. By this time the home side were getting well on top and a corner from the right saw Joe Wilton rise above everyone to head home number four. The fifth goal came in the seventy sixth minute from a break down the left and the ball squared back for Nathan Dennis to strike a sweet shot past the keeper from the edge of the box. Just four minutes later it was six as Kris Bully fired the ball across the six yard box it was palmed away by Heaven but straight to Myron Turner to drive home. The final goal on eighty nine minutes came from substitute Stuart Maule’s cross into the box, the visitors failed to clear and Joe Wilton bundled it in to make the final score 7-1.

Thornbury Town are the new leaders after their seven nil thumping of Gala Wilton at Fairmile Gardens. The star man was Craig Lancastle who found the back of the Gala net on four occasions including one from the penalty spot. Sam Webb missed an early chance for the home side before Thornbury took the lead on thirty eight minutes when Danny Haines turned in a low cross into the box. Two minutes later it was two – nil as Lancastle opened his account with a header into the top corner. Lancastle scored again on fifty minutes to make it three – nil and ten minutes later he bundled home his third. Lancastle then netted a penalty on sixty six minutes to make it five – nil. Nathan Irwin got in on the act on eighty minutes with a shot that struck the post on its way in - and a Mark Viner header on eighty six minutes rounded the scoring off.

Stonehouse Town twice led in their away game at Kingswood but eventually went down three – two. Both sides had early chances Ryan Mudd went close for the home side and then Chris Fox saved well from town’s Ben Jones. Town’s keeper Will Pedrick brought off a great save to deny Jamie Evans in the thirty eightH minute and then two minutes later the visitors went in front as Liam Gale cut in from the right and drove a low shot past Fox. Kingswood equalised in the fifty third minute when the Stonehouse defence failed to clear and Josh Stokes smashed the ball home. A couple of minutes later Fox kept the home side in the game when he brought of a great save to deny Ryan Stewart. Fox could not prevent the visitors from taking the lead on sixty three minutes as Gale headed home from a free kick. Town could have gone further ahead but for another great save by Fox from an Andy Maryon header. Kingswood levelled again on eighty seven minutes with a sweet move that ended with Frank Hitchings finding the back of the net. With the game into the ninety third minute Kingswood gabbed the winner when Jamie Evans sent a cross into the box that was well controlled by Gavin Dibden who then dummied his marker before driving the ball past Pedrick.

Hardwicke had no answer to the much improved AEK Boco who went away with three points after a three – one win. Hardwicke’s Richard Mansell gave away a free kick on the edge of the box on thirty eight minutes and Liam Jenkins put Boco one up. Jordan Scott bundled the ball home just before half time to make it two – nil. Hardwicke pulled a goal back on eighty three minutes when Craig Harris was brought down in the box and Richard Mansell netted from the penalty spot. Just three minutes later Boco went three – one up from a thirty yard free kick that struck the crossbar and Brad Wheadon knocked in the rebound.

Henbury went down four – two at home to Broadwell Amateurs. Reece Purnell chipped the keeper to give the home side the lead on twelve minutes, but Blaine Smith levelled for Broadwell five minutes later Purnell then put the home side back into the lead on twenty five minutes, but Blaine Smith then levelled again with his second just before the break. A Ben Fishwick shot from the edge of the box on seventy eight minutes put the visitors ahead for the first time. Then a headed goal from Ross Gabriel on eighty four minutes gave the visitors the three points.

Patchway Town came back from their defeat last week to beat today’s visitors Bishops Cleeve Reserves three – nil. Town went ahead on sixteen minutes from a Matt Davies cross into the box headed home by Brandon Benjamin. Matt Davies got the second on sixty three minutes after great build up from Matt Tovey to create space for Luke Garbacz to send a sublime pass to Jordan Yeo who whipped in a cross for Davies to score. It was Davies who was involved in the third goal when he was brought down in the box and Luke Garbacz netted from the penalty spot.

No less than seven goals at Cheltenham where Little Stoke were the visitors. There were chances for both sides early on but wayward finishing and some good goalkeeping kept the score at nil – nil. The home side were gifted the opening goal on twenty minutes when a Little Stoke defender steered the ball past his own keeper as he rushed out and Jack Sklenar steered the ball into an empty net from the edge of the box. The lead lasted just two minutes as Josh Ellin’s poor touch gave Stoke the opportunity cross into the box where Sasha Tong prodded the ball past Griffiths. A free kick from Cheltenham’s Ryan Smith was headed onto the bar by Paul Holmes. Then Sklenar missed a good chance before Simon Knight beat Griffiths to the ball to head Stoke into the lead on thirty six minutes. Right on half time Sklenar had a great chance to level the score but his shot rebounded off the post. Two minutes into the second half the visitor’s scored again from a free kick that found Matt Simons to prod the ball home unchallenged. Little Stoke were reduced to ten men on sixty eight minutes when Simon Knight received a second yellow card. In the seventy third minute Matt Simons broke clear of the home defence to stroke the ball past Griffiths. A great diving header from Paul Holmes made it four two and six minutes later Holmes squared the ball back for Adam Loveridge to curl the ball into the top corner. Holmes got the ball in the back of the Stoke net in injury time but it was ruled out for of side. A good win for the visitors by four goals to three.

3^rd December 2016 - Kingswood grab points at Patchway Town

A minutes silence was observed at all the fixtures played today in memory of all those people who lost their lives in the Columbian air disaster.

Changes at the top as Thornbury Town close the gap on Stonehouse Town after a home win over Frampton United. Stonehouse who still lead the table were held to a 2-2 draw at Henbury.

A nine point gap has opened up between Hanham Athletic who are third from bottom and Hardwicke who are fourth.

The game at Scott Park between Patchway Town and Kingswood was decided by a single goal, but the home side must be wondering how on earth they lost the game. They completely dominated the first forty five minutes and created numerous chances but failed to put any of them away. Their opposition Kingswood never managed a shot on target and home keeper Jamie Framiloe was a spectator throughout the first half. The visitors have their goalkeeper Chris Fox to thank for making some splendid saves as well. Patchway’s Jordan Yeo broke clear on goal and cut in to strike a low shot on fourteen minutes but that man Fox save well with his legs the ball flying over the bar. A couple of minutes later it was Yeo v Fox again this time from a free kick on the edge of the box with the keeper pulling off yet another great save. Jordan Yeo was definitely out to try and put the home side in front when his next effort on goal in the seventeenth minute was only just wide. The home side should have done better when Matt Davies weaved his way to the bye-line chipped the ball into the six yard box but nobody was up supporting. On thirty six minutes Gavin Dibden hauled back Matt Tovey on the edge of the box on the right – the ball was pumped into the box it was scrambled away but straight to Luke Garbacz but his shot went just past the post. Davies again broke into the box and let fly only to see Fox palming the ball away. With just two minutes before the break Jordan Yeo got the ball across to Luke Garbacz but his header went straight into Fox’s arms.

Kingswood started the better in the second half and pushed up more on the home defence with a couple of speculative shots from Ben Foxwell and Jamie Evans going well wide. At the other end Matt Davies struck the upright and was cleared by Kingswood. The visitors went ahead on sixty six minutes from a break down the right a ball crossed into the box and Ryan Mudd fired the ball past Framiloe. Kingswood almost got a second on seventy four minutes when Ryan Mudd sent a low cross to the far post and Jamie Evans latched onto the ball but then shot wide. Dan Bendall was brought on for the home side and was unlucky in the seventy ninth minute when a defence splitting pass found him on the edge of the box with just Fox to beat but the keeper had read the situation and just managed to strike the ball onto Bendall and out for a goal kick. The visitors were showing much more intent and the home side had lost that rhythm they had in the first half and Kingswood Substitute Jordan Simms had Farmiloe at full stretch to save his twenty yard shot. Patchway’s Luke Garbacz hit the crossbar with a speculative shot at the other end. It was Farmiloe who denied Ryan Mudd a second goal two minutes from the end saving well from the strikers shot.

Thornbury Town have closed the gap on the leaders and have a game in hand with their two - one win at home to Frampton United. Frampton applied the early pressure with a couple of shots that were blocked but on thirteen minutes they took the lead when another shot was blocked but fell nicely for Matt Cook to drive a low shot past Lippiatt in the home goal. The lead lasted just two minutes as the home side hit back. Scott McLeod’s cross into the box was poorly dealt with by the Frampton defence and Luke Franklin scored with a shot from the edge of the box. In the fifty seventh minute the home side got their noses in front and it came from a long ball out to Craig Lancastle who cut into the box before unleashing a low shot that sped past keeper Marklove. Just a minute later Frampton almost levelled when Minola Marquez Espada’s shot was neatly turned over the bar by Lippiatt. Town had one more chance near the end from a cross by Scott McLeod that was headed over the bar by Nathan Irwin.

Gala Wilton picked up a valuable point at Bishops Cleeve Reserves. In a goalless first forty five minutes that was shaded by the home side. The deadlock was broken in the sixtieth minute from a defence splitting pass by Dan Maguire that found Brett Blake to give Cleeve the lead. Gala then had a purple patch for the next fifteen minutes and pulled a goal back in the seventy second minute when a bad challenge by Danny Gittins in the box gave away a penalty. Kyle Bakewell took the kick and gave the home keeper no chance from the spot. Cleeve had two late opportunities the first on eighty five minutes when Sam Cummings saw his shot well saved and two minutes later Paul Ireland headed over the bar.

Rockleaze Rangers managed a slender win at Hanham Athletic and the only goal of the game came in the thirty sixth minute from an in-swinging corner that was helped into the net by defender Luke Clapp for an own goal. Hanham’s Tom Welling saw his power driver of a shot almost beat the visitor’s keeper but somehow he kept it out. Then in the seventy eighth minute Max Heaven kept Hanham in the game when he saved well from a Kye Simpsons shot.

Henbury who went down to ten men after thirty five minutes held leaders Stonehouse Town to a two – two draw at Arnell Drive. It was the home side who showed the early promise and took the lead on twenty two minutes when Caelen Simpson was brought down in the box and Jack Mills fired home the resulting penalty. The leaders equalised on fifty one minutes from an acute angled shot from Josh Butler. Three minutes later the visitors were in front when Luke Barstow scored direct from a free kick giving the home keeper no chance. Henbury salvaged a point in the sixty eighth minute when Aaron Anglin capitalised on a defensive mistake by the visitors and had a simple task of tapping the ball home from close in.

Bristol Telephones won their game with Southmead CS Athletic three – two but made hard work of the victory. Neither side could find the back of the net in the first forty five minutes but the home side changed that in the first minute of the second half when a through ball to leading goalscorer Dhani Golding saw the striker give them the lead. Four minutes later brother Kieran broke down the right and then pulled the ball back for Ryan Webber to swivel round and strike the ball home. On seventy minutes Southmead reduced the arrears when a quick break caught the home defence out and Rob Sivers netted the resulting penalty. In the eighty ninth minute Phones scored again and this time it was a spectacular overhead kick from debutant Tom Daley. The visitors made it three – two in time added a mistake by keeper Aaron Greatbanks allowed Farai Chiwah the opportunity to score.

Lebeq United got back to winning ways with a three – one success at home to Broadwell Amateurs. All four goals came in the first forty five minutes. Dominic Holver was the first to test the Broadwell keeper Jamie merry with a fine shot on twenty minutes, but just five minutes later Broadwell took the lead when Christian Burnard capitalised on a mistake in the home defence. Ibrahima Sarr gave Leroy Swaby the chance to level but the keeper saved well. Nathan Hall then missed great chance for the home side before a mad three minutes in which Lebeq scored their three goals. The equalising goal came in the forty second minute with a great lob over the keeper by Dominic Holver and a minute later Leroy Swaby headed home a Sheridan Sawyer cross. Then right on half time Holver put Swaby clear to net the third.

AEK Boco shaded the first ten minutes of the game at Cheltenham Civil Service and had their full back booked on seventeen minutes for retaliation. The home sides first attempt on goal came from a quick break and a cross from Sam Mason that was turned behind. A Cheltenham twenty five yard free kick from Ryan Smith on twenty six minutes struck the crossbar and went over the top. On thirty minutes a volley from Adam Loveridge was well blocked by the visitor’s keeper. Almost an almighty blunder by Teejay Bick who sent a forty yard back pass to Tim Griffiths saw the keeper scrambling back and just managing to head the ball over the bar. Bick made up for that blunder in the thirty eighth minute when his thirty yard free kick is brilliantly saved by the Boco keeper. The score remained goalless until the fifty first minutes when Jack Green was put clear to slide the ball past Griffiths and give Boco the lead. On sixty one minutes Burrows sent Mason clear but the striker drove the ball into the side netting. Boco sealed the three points in the very last minute of the game when Jack Green scored from the penalty spot to make the final score two – nil.
